SI Dublin 2023 Pre and Post Residential Tour

A word from your Hospitality/Cultural Officer

Dear Sister Soroptimists,

We in Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland are looking forward to our International Convention in 2023.

For the first time Soroptimist International have chosen Ireland and we could not be more delighted. So, you will have the opportunity to visit ‘The Emerald Isle’. Perhaps Ireland has been on your ‘bucket’ list for years? Now you have an extra reason to choose Ireland as a post-Covid experience for yourself and a friend, a family member, or a sister Soroptimist. It is a special experience to travel to a far-flung destination and all the more so when it is to combine it with an International Convention. I have personally ‘used’ our Soroptimist events as an excuse to see different far-flung places with my husband and son.

Let me introduce you to ‘the Ireland’ you have yet to meet. A small Island of 83,000sq km. with a wonderful, varied landscape of mountain, valley and a large central plain. No place is further than 100 km from the sea. There are motorways connecting the larger cities but thankfully, we have many smaller roads, which allow us to see unspoilt scenery. An ancient land sculptured by glaciation and developed by woman, and man for 7 millennia.

Why should you join us on our Pre (3-night/4-day) or Post (7-night/8-day) convention tours (or even both of them!)? Well, because we would like to share Ireland with you, a destination full of beauty, friendship, hospitality, and CRAIC (this is our Gaelic word for great fun). You will experience music, dance, history, and literature whilst travelling in comfort, visiting great places, and staying in excellent hotels.  There will be opportunities to meet up with Soroptimist members where our itineraries visit their towns and cities. Ireland is not an inexpensive destination however, we intend to give you value for money and hopefully, your best experience ever.

I am looking forward to meeting you all on tour. I am a long-standing Soroptimist. Professionally, I have had a career in education and as a tour guide (in the U.K. and Ireland). Meanwhile I will be in contact with each of you after you make your booking, and remember –

“The opportunity of a lifetime must be made within the lifetime of the opportunity”.

In friendship,

Carmel
